Infusoria Culture

Steps to succeeding w/ insuforia cultures:

1. Get a clear bottle/jar (plastic or glass w/ as big an opening as you can get for maximum oxygen exchange)
2. Fill it with tank water (works better then dechlorinated tap water)
3. Add a leaf of lettuce (or other material that will decay in the water to start a bacteria culture – insufuria eats bacteria)
4. Cover with fish net material or muslin cloth (optional)
5. Place bottle/jar in a well-lit area, but not in direct sunlight
6. The water will get cloudy (due to the bacterial bloom). Once it clears or turns pinkish, you will have a well-fed culture of insufuria
7. Use a syringe or turkey baster to remove some of the liquid toward the top of the bottle/jar and add a couple of drops to your tank (not the whole thing)
